New Shed at the Courts + More Coming!

New Shed at the Courts

MPC has a new shed, generously donated by Kurt Larson. Thank you, Kurt, and to all of the volunteers who helped install it!

Need access to the shed? Please reach out to a board member to have it opened. A board member will be available in the mornings and evenings to provide access.

What's inside the shed?

  • Brooms

  • Leaf blower

  • Court squeegees

  • Pickleballs

  • Portable nets

  • Portable practice wall

Portable Practice Wall

The Funky Picklers will soon be purchasing a portable practice wall that will be available for all MPC members to use.

The wall will be stored in the MPC shed and can be accessed through any board member. If you would like to schedule time in advance to use the practice wall, please contact Sharon Kolch or Vicki Rice.

A special thank you to Vicki Rice for leading the effort to collect funds for the Carl Vandermeulen Memorial Drive, and to everyone who donated funds. Your generosity made the purchase of the practice wall possible. Any remaining memorial funds will be donated to DCHS.

Memorial Bench

We’re honored to share that a memorial bench has been placed outside the courts in memory of Cindy Paulson, one of our early Court Cougars.

Thanks to the generosity of many donors, the club was able to purchase the bench, and the City installed it on the cement just outside the courts. A plaque made by Kado Printing will soon be added in Cindy’s memory.

Next time you’re at the courts, take a moment to sit, rest, and remember Cindy and the spirit she brought to our pickleball community. Thank you to everyone who contributed to make this tribute possible.

AED Coming Next Season

MPC has secured a generous donation to purchase an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for the courts. This donation is from Chippewa Valley Orthopedics & Sports Medicine of Altoona. A sign with their logo and a QR code for walk in services will be placed above the AED.

Next season, the AED will be located at the front of the courts, outside the gate near Court 5. Training will also be provided so members know how to properly use this life-saving equipment.

We will share additional information as we get closer to spring.

A huge thank you to Pam Endorf for all of her efforts in making this important addition to our courts and community possible!
